Aristocrat Leisure Caps Off a Winning Year with Soaring Profits and Global Expansion

Author By Sophia "Siren" Wilson Jun17,2024

The prominent gaming corporation, Aristocrat Leisure, concluded its fiscal year in September 2023 with remarkable financial outcomes. Their net profit after tax (NPATA) witnessed a surge exceeding 20% in comparison to the preceding year, attaining an impressive A$1.33 billion. This exceptional accomplishment was propelled by robust revenue expansion across their entire gaming portfolio.

The company’s revenue reached A$6.3 billion, equivalent to approximately US$4.1 billion. Their earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to A$2.1 billion.

Examining the specifics, all their crucial performance metrics displayed positive trends. Even after accounting for certain non-recurring factors, their adjusted results remained noteworthy. While revenue expanded by a respectable 13%, their earnings per share experienced a surge of over 26%.

This triumph is also reflected in the stock market. Aristocrat’s shares are presently trading around A$39.48, notwithstanding a recent minor decline.

A substantial portion of their achievements can be attributed to their operations in the Americas, particularly North America, where profits surged by A$14.33 billion after taxes. This was primarily driven by a 26% rise in the quantity of Aristocrat gaming machines directly present in casinos throughout North America. They also observed substantial expansion in their premium “Class III” and “Class II” games, with installations increasing by over 64,000 units, representing an 8% growth.

Their Class III games also gained popularity in Asia and Europe. Asia, in particular, rebounded significantly following the relaxation of COVID-related restrictions, with Macau, a prominent gambling destination, witnessing a remarkable 400% year-over-year surge in gambling revenue in October.

In the preceding twelve months, Aristocrat has demonstrated significant activity. They’ve forged alliances with captivating collaborators, integrated fresh individuals into their executive ranks, and unveiled a multitude of novel offerings. A notable triumph this year was securing the agreement to be the sole slot machine vendor for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas – an event renowned for attracting a high-stakes audience! Trevor Croker, the Chief Executive Officer of Aristocrat, justifiably expresses satisfaction with the company’s accomplishments, emphasizing the potency of their gaming portfolio and the steadiness of their operational markets. Furthermore, Aristocrat garnered three prestigious accolades at the Global Gaming Awards held in Las Vegas. An undeniably commendable year!
