A significant force in the gaming sector, Boyd Gaming, is restructuring its executive lineup to align with industry shifts and the company’s expansion plan. Their objective is to optimize their leadership framework and prepare for future challenges.

Assuming the position of Chief Administrative Officer is Steve Thompson, previously responsible for Nevada Operations. Stepping into Thompson’s former role is Steve Schutte, who formerly oversaw Boyd Gaming’s local Las Vegas establishments. Schutte’s responsibilities now encompass all Nevada operations, including slots, dining, lodging, and more.

Concurrently, Ted Bogich, previously overseeing Midwest and South Region Operations, is transitioning to the role of Chief Operating Officer. He will be tasked with ensuring the seamless operation of all 28 Boyd Gaming properties nationwide. Additionally, he will retain his existing responsibilities in marketing, slot machine data analysis, and strategic development. Filling Bogich’s previous position is Ward Shaw, who formerly managed company operations across Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

Keith Smith, Boyd Gaming’s President and CEO, summarized the changes: “These leadership adjustments enhance our organizational structure, enabling Boyd Gaming to sustain a competitive advantage in today’s dynamic and rapidly changing landscape.”

These four seasoned leaders have played a pivotal role in our organization’s achievements. To further capitalize on their expertise, we are broadening their responsibilities to have an even more profound influence as we propel enduring expansion and productivity throughout our enterprise.

Thompson, a Boyd Gaming stalwart since 1983, has donned numerous roles, presently supervising critical domains such as Acquisitions, Operations, Development & Engineering, Corporate Citizenship, Public Relations, and even our equestrian and athletic endeavors.

Schutte brings three decades of gaming sector proficiency, while Shaw contributes 25 years of experience in high-level leadership positions across diverse territories.

Bogich, who joined Boyd Gaming in 2004, consistently ascended the corporate ladder, exhibiting his leadership capabilities at every stage.

These executive transitions follow Boyd Gaming’s recent earnings announcement, which showcased a robust third quarter with $903.2 million in earnings, exceeding the prior year. The company underscored its growth initiatives, including the exhilarating Fremont property venture and strategic alliances in digital gaming, notably with FanDuel and the incorporation of Boyd Interactive.

Moreover, the company’s dedication to advancement is apparent in its partnership with UNLV to establish the Boyd Innovation Lab, a center for fostering progress in Southern Nevada’s hospitality sector.
