Prepare for the resurgence of the Borgata Winter Poker Open!
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, situated in Atlantic City, New Jersey, is collaborating with BetMGM Poker to revive this renowned tournament in the early months of 2024. Spanning January 1st to 26th, poker enthusiasts can vie for a share of the colossal $10 million prize pool distributed among 22 primary events and a multitude of secondary events.
Kelly DeCelis, the Borgata’s Poker Operations Director, conveyed enthusiasm for expanding upon the triumphs of the previous year’s tournament and solidifying the Borgata’s standing as a premier poker hub on the East Coast.
BetMGM Poker stands as the exclusive digital partner for the event, presenting players with an opportunity to secure their spot in the tournament commencing December 2023. These packages encompass tournament entry fees, hotel lodging, and additional travel benefits. Online satellite tournaments begin at a mere $2, rendering participation attainable for players of all skill sets. Luke Staudenmaier, Director of Poker at BetMGM, foresees robust engagement through these online preliminary rounds.
The Bogotá Winter Poker Open commenced with a captivating “$800 entry Kickoff tournament” showcasing a $2 million assured prize fund. The series flaunted a roster of exhilarating competitions, encompassing the “All-in Million” and “Mystery and Mix Week,” concluding with the main attraction – the Bogotá Winter Poker Open Championship. This five-day Texas Hold’em face-off mandated a $5,300 buy-in and offered a colossal $3 million prize fund.
This poker spectacle trailed a luxurious $5.5 million refurbishment of the casino’s spa and club within the Hotel Casino Bogotá, rechristened as the opulent MGM Tower. This wasn’t the sole recent enhancement for the establishment. Hotel Casino Bogotá and BetMGM had collaborated earlier in August 2023 to unveil “Dual Play Roulette,” a novel gaming concept crafted to obscure the boundaries between virtual and brick-and-mortar casino amusement.
