In the heart of Louisville, Kentucky, Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has unveiled a brand new outdoor wagering patio on the southern side of Derby City Gaming, the state’s sole authorized land-based betting establishment.
The expansive 8,000-square-foot outdoor space boasts a collection of 225 historical racing machines (HRMs), pushing the facility’s overall machine count to a remarkable 1,225.
CDI’s signature event, the globally renowned Kentucky Derby, will mark its 146th running on the upcoming September 5th. The race was shifted from its initial date of May 2nd, 2020. The competition will be held without an audience to ensure the safe continuation of the tradition of running the race annually since 1875.
