The Portuguese regulatory body has authorized a ruling permitting the operation of crash games within the nation.
The Gaming Regulation and Inspection Service (SRIJ) declared the approval of the ruling yesterday (May 19th). The ruling took effect today (May 20th), and the country’s legal structure for online gambling and wagering has been modified to incorporate crash games.
Crash games are a variety of game offered by a house bank where participants compete against the operator. They are founded on a multiplier that begins at 1 at the start of the game and rises to 100.
The objective of the participant is to withdraw their wager before the game concludes. If they do, they will receive the sum of their initial wager multiplied by the multiplier. If they don’t, they will forfeit their wager.
The ruling specifies that the multiplier range is from 1x to 100x. Moreover, the player’s return rate must not be lower than 80%.
Authorized operators in the country can now request licenses to provide these games.
In March, the SRIJ issued a prohibition on the publication of live sports event odds online or in-house.
